Synthetic Genetic Material Data Generation
Overview
The service provides generation of synthetic genetic material data intended to support research, development, testing, and validation of downstream analytical workflows. Its main purpose is to create artificial datasets that reflect the main characteristics and structure of real genetic material data, while reducing dependence on limited, sensitive, or difficult-to-access real-world datasets. The service is intended to support data augmentation, benchmarking, robustness testing, and controlled experimentation in cases where available data are insufficient in volume, diversity, or balance. It helps users expand the range of data available for analysis and model development while preserving the practical usefulness of the generated datasets. The service relies on an AI-supported data generation pipeline based on preparation of representative sequence-derived profiles and modelling of structural relationships within microbial data, which are then used to generate new synthetic samples that reflect the properties of observed real samples. The pipeline is designed to ensure reproducibility and integration with the other microbial data processing services in the SLAIF environment.
Outcome
Users obtain synthetic genetic material datasets that can be used to complement limited real microbial datasets, support training and validation of downstream models, and enable more robust testing of analytical workflows. The service increases the availability of suitable microbial data for research and applied use cases, especially in scenarios where small sample size would otherwise limit development and evaluation of AI methods.
